The focus of this massage is to first, make sure that you are properly balanced structurally. Most people have their hips unbalanced which throws off the shoulders and even the head. Sometimes we have our joints inverted or too high so the focus is releasing the right joints and muscles to bring the body back into harmony. This is a tailored service to what issues are contributing to the source of pain or discomfort. That being said, it is customizable. Lately it has been TMJ relief with lymphatic draining and craniosacral techniques. Normally though it is active/ resistive stretching to rebalance hips and pec work to rebalance shoulders with specific neck techniques to release the cervical muscles. All depends on specific conditions present along with a persons medical history.
NOTE: This is a gentle massage that involves light rhythmic and slow massage because it involves an entirely different system. It will never be a deep tissue massage like they do in Brazil.
NOTE: I am no longer working with BBL clients and I do not change dressings after surgery.
Lymphatic Drainage Therapy aims to rid the body of excess lymph fluid, especially swollen areas of the body, relieving pressure and enhancing the functioning of the immune system. As both a preventative and remedial technique, LD can be used for a wide range of purposes including faster recovery from injury, reduction of swelling and discomfort from pregnancy, and strengthened resistance to illness.
***If you are getting lipo surgery I do have you wait a week before receiving a massage so your body has had time to heal while processing lymph on its own.
Hot Stone Therapy is a style of massage where heated stones are placed at specific sites on your body to deepen relaxation and promote circulation in your muscles. Muscles that are heated with these stones release tension and stress much more deeply and quickly than with a traditional massage. The overall experience is very relaxing, nurturing, and rejuvenating. Himalayan hot stones add minerals to the body while alkalizing the skin.
Swedish Massage is a very relaxing and therapeutic style of bodywork (Light to Medium pressure). It combines oils or lotion with an array of strokes such as rolling, kneading, and percussion to help the body improve its circulation. The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, improved appearance, and greater flexibility.
Deep Tissue Massage is a form of bodywork that aims to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissue in the body. Deep Tissue Massage is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries. Due to the nature of the deep tissue work, open communication during the session is crucial to make sure you don't get too uncomfortable. Keep in mind that soreness is pretty common after the treatment, and that plenty of water should be ingested to aid with the flushing and removal of toxins that will have been released from the deep tissue during the session.
Pregnancy Massage is a style of bodywork designed specifically for pregnant women. Pregnancy is a time when a woman's body endures tremendous stress due to dramatic physical and emotional changes. Using various techniques specially developed for the expecting mother, Pregnancy Massage helps release the pain and discomfort experienced throughout pregnancy. The benefits are profound, including emotional support, the relief of joint pain due to extra weight and postural imbalance, and improved breathing and relaxation.
PLEASE NOTE: HOT STONES OR FOOT REFLEXOLOGY CANNOT BE ADDED ON TO THIS SERVICE BECAUSE THEY ARE CONTRAINDICATIONS FOR THE BABY.
Stretching is a dynamic system for improving your flexibility and overall well-being. As you probably already know, stretching your muscles not only reduces your chance of injury, but also strengthens your tendons and improves your circulation. This is a customizable service depending on your physical limitations. These are stretches are unlike those of Yoga or Pilates.
CranioSacral Therapy is a gentle yet powerful technique that is effective in releasing neck pain, back pain, and mental stress (among other things). It does this by optimizing the movement of cerebrospinal fluid through the spine and around the skull. Developed by physician William Sutherland, this therapy provides a very soothing and relaxing healing experience.
This is geared to help those who have had car accidents, headaches, lupus, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue and even just constant inflammation. I have even had people request it for a hospice, end of life treatment.
Reflexology is a type of bodywork that focuses on applying pressure to the specific nerve zones in your feet. Unlike other foot massages that intend to mostly relieve tension in the feet themselves, reflexology is a far more in-depth science that aims to harmonize your entire body. According to reflexology, every part of the human body is mapped into your feet. Reflexology treatments have been found to be highly effective for conditions such as allergies, headaches, and depression.
Note: The majority of the masseter (jaw muscle) is inside the mouth so this service is intractable where the bony facets are loosened as well. Gloves are worn and this is actually a very relaxing experience especially for teeth grinders. After 21 years of massaging it’s my personal recommendation that everyone start here because of the benefits.
This mini facial includes warm towels with cleansing, exfoliation & moisturizing along with a relaxing facial massage.
Cupping is a great warm up & circulatory tool that brings the blood to the surface from a tense muscle to allow for the release of toxins.
It’s almost as everyone in New Braunfels has allergies so this service focus’ on drainage and creating more space for blood flow. Warm towels are used and ice globes as well which yield great results.
Thai massage is more energizing and rigorous than most other forms of massage therapy. I use my hands, knees, legs, and feet to move you into a series of yoga-like postures and stretches. My clients say Thai massage is like exercising & stretching without doing any of the work. No oil is applied, so you are fully dressed comfortably during the session. A single Thai massage session will help you release stress and relieve pain, and help you function more effectively at work and home.
